An Immersive Reflection on Creation, Destruction, and the Fragility of Time

Holoscene: The Garden of Eden is No More

An Immersive Reflection on a World at the Edge of Change

Collaborators: SUUM Studio & David Donaldson (DD3)
Project Type: 3D Animation, Generative Art & Sound Design

“For millennia, nature has largely been stable. Now in the space of one human lifetime, that has all changed… The Holocene has ended. The Garden of Eden is no more.” — David Attenborough

Inspired by Attenborough’s stark warning on humanity’s impact on the natural world, Holoscene is an immersive digital artwork that explores the tipping point of environmental change. A collaboration between SUUM Studio and composer David Donaldson, this piece fuses 3D animation, generative art, and spatial sound design, creating a multi-sensory experience that reacts dynamically to music and motion.

A Living, Evolving Digital Landscape

Rendered in real-time generative 3D, Holoscene creates an ever-changing, immersive environment, where organic structures, shifting planetary textures, and fluid light patterns pulse and transform in response to sound and motion. The piece mirrors the cycles of creation and destruction, questioning the boundaries between stability and collapse, nature and intervention, existence and extinction.

Art, Music & The Digital Frontier

Designed as an immersive installation, digital display, and NFT artwork, Holoscene places the audience inside an unfolding cinematic environment, inviting them to experience planetary change on a visceral level. Every frame is a fleeting moment—a fragment of a world in flux.
