Britain’s Bestselling Toys
For Channel 4’s Britain’s Bestselling Toys, SUUM Studio created a high-energy, visually rich title sequence and animated countdown, celebrating the evolution of toys from the 1970s to the 2010s. Blending cinematic lighting, hyper-real materials, and era-specific graphic design, we crafted an animation package that captured the excitement, trends, and cultural significance of each decade’s most iconic toys.
Each countdown number was brought to life as a toy archetype, from fluffy monsters and remote-control cars to transforming robots and dinosaurs—bursting from their packaging in a way that reflected both chart position and unique character traits. Every decade had a distinct environment, designed with authentic textures, bold patterns, and packaging aesthetics, from ’70s psychedelia to Y2K neon futurism.
The main title sequence transported viewers to a child’s perspective inside a giant toy store, where towering action figures, oversized teddy bears, and endless toy aisles recreated that childhood thrill of stepping into a world built for imagination.
Airing on New Year’s Eve to 1.2 million viewers, our animation brought nostalgia, excitement, and playful energy to a national audience—proving that the magic of toys never fades.
